What do you do in your daily life?

If you ask me what I do in my daily life, I try to find a good balance between studying and my social life. During the day I’m mainly a student, working on my Pre-Master Strategic Management. Super interesting, but I also need to burn off some energy.

That’s why you can often find me on the padel court, playing a match with friends. I’m also a member of Dispuut Cartouche, where we make the most of our student years. Whether it’s with fellow members, friends, or family — I’m always up for a good drink or a nice dinner.

What do you enjoy about your job?

What I really like about working here is the open and dynamic atmosphere. The lines to management are short, so it’s easy to strike up a conversation. There is always room to share your own ideas and brainstorm with colleagues. The best part is that it truly feels like you’re being listened to and that you’re contributing together to move things forward.

What do you do in your daily life?

Besides studying and working at Knikkers, I mainly spend my time doing sports. This varies between different martial arts, going to the gym, or cycling with my housemates. I also get a lot of enjoyment from engaging with the financial markets.

What do you enjoy about the job?

In the two months I’ve been working at Knikkers, I’ve been amazed by how quickly you learn the processes and how soon you can take on tasks independently. It’s a small team, which gives you insight into all aspects of the company, helping me get a better idea of what I’m looking for in a career. On top of that, it’s great to make students happy with a flexible part-time job where they get paid the following week — because honestly, who wouldn’t want that?

How do you see Knikkers Uitzendwerk?

I see Knikkers Uitzendwerk as a modern organization, who understands his people and is very flexible, both with the students as with the young staff. With this I think it creates the perfect work enviroment. As a Gen Z we seek a company to learn and grow, as in the professional as an individual way and I found Knikkers Uitzendwerk.

What do you enjoy about the job?

First of all, there is a pleasant and positive atmosphere at the Knikkers office! I also enjoy being part of the link between our clients and the students who are looking for work. I like being able to help both sides and really mean something to people. In addition, Knikkers gives me the opportunity to take on more in-depth tasks, which is of course both educational and challenging.

What are your hobbies?

I’ve been living in a big, close-knit girls’ house here in Tilburg for a few years now, and I’m also part of a sorority. In my free time, I mostly do fun things with friends, which I get a lot of joy from. I've also recently taken up hockey again and I occasionally play the piano.

How do you see Knikkers Uitzendwerk?

I see Knikkers Uitzendwerk as a place where students can earn money flexibly while still keeping their focus on their studies during busy periods. From experience, I know how important and valuable it is to have autonomy over this balance, which is why I enjoy helping students in this process.

What do you do in your daily life?

In my daily life, I can mostly be found in the gymnastics hall or the trampoline park, where I happily coach and train myself. So don’t be surprised if you come across me upside down. I also love exploring new cultures, catching up with friends, and going to concerts.

What do you do in your daily life?

Besides my studies at Tilburg University, I am very involved with music. I play several instruments in various bands where we perform both covers and our own original music. This is the ultimate outlet for me. Additionally, I enjoy meeting up with friends to cook together or to enjoy the nightlife in Tilburg.

Why did you choose to work at Knikkers Uitzendwerk?

I believe it's extremely important that students are given the opportunity to commit themselves and develop beyond their studies, in exchange for fair wages and working conditions suited to a busy student life. Being able to contribute to this goal while simultaneously developing myself in various areas is why I choose Knikkers!

What do you find the biggest challenge in the work?

In my opinion the biggest challenge is trying to get diverse interests to converge. For example, the interests of employees are often at odds with the interests of clients. When this succeeds, it gives me a tremendous kick. One good example of this is the instant payment of the salary after a shift has been worked for the employees.

What are your hobbies?

In my spare time I like to cook. I really enjoy creating something and then eating it with friends or family. I also do boxing and I can regularly be found on my racing bike. I can really enjoy making bicycle trips through Europe with my friends.

What do you do enjoy in daily life?

I love sports, so after a day at work I like to hit the gym or go for a run. I also own a racing bike, but in all honesty I must confess that it has mainly seen the inside of my shed. I also love everything that has to do with dining. Both the food and the drinks.

What do you like about your job?

I really feel that we can make a difference. It is becoming increasingly expensive to build up a normal life. If you need flexibility because of a study or other commitments, it is hardly offered. We try to offer that flexibility. Apart from that, I work in a really nice team and I enjoy coming to the office every day.

What do you enjoy in daily life?

I like to stay up to date with current events. I therefore enjoy reading news articles and analysis on market operations. I can lose myself in figuring out underlying dependencies. I get energy from organizing activities for friends, colleagues, family and other people. Besides these activities I'm a Willem season ticket holder and I passionately watch games of 'my' NFL team the Philadelphia Eagles.

What do you like about your job?

Facilitating a stable part-time job is very important for the financial stability of students. It is currently too easy to take out student loans. The consequences are downplayed. In addition, the policy on the weight of a study debt is constantly changing in view of financial products such as a mortgage. Being able to make a difference here motivates me every day. I'm enjoy the approachable and open atmosphere at the office every day.

Frequently asked questions

Wage tax reduction is a discount on the tax you pay on your salary. If you apply this reduction, you pay less tax and, therefore, receive a higher net salary. You're allowed to apply this tax reduction with only one employer at a time.

A payslip provides a detailed overview of your earnings and deductions. At the top, you usually find personal details, such as your name and the number of hours worked. Next, you'll see the gross salary and deductions, like wage tax, followed by the net amount that gets paid out to you.

You'll also notice the 'all-in rate'. This rate consists of your gross hourly wage, combined with all reserves, like holiday pay and other allowances. It means that for every hour worked, in addition to your gross hourly wage, you also build up a reserve for these extras. This is why your gross hourly wage is lower than the all-in rate.

Because it provides a more transparent view of what you earn in total per hour. It doesn't just show your hourly wage but also all the additional amounts you accumulate. This way, you get a clear insight into your total earnings based on the hours worked.
